Chicago software firm goes on hiring spree to support North American growth

Chicago, IL – October 29, 2009 – Only one year after opening its North
American headquarters in downtown Chicago, customer service software
company, Sword Ciboodle, has achieved significant success in the U.S. market
and is now seeking to more than quadruple its local workforce by hiring over
60 new employees in order to meet the demands of its rapidly expanding
business.

Sword Ciboodle develops award-winning software that gives its customers the
ability to provide world-class customer service across multiple channels,
such as phone, email and the Internet. The company currently employs around
300 people across the world, and is part of the Sword Group, which has a
global workforce of over 2,000.

Following several successful years building out its customer base in Europe,
Australasia and South Africa, Sword Ciboodle expanded into the U.S. in
August 2008, establishing its headquarters in Chicago, and spent the next
year putting together a core team and securing a number of key business
wins. In the US, the company is currently working with high-profile
customers including PacifiCorp, Vistaprint and Sears, among others. During
the current downturn the company has bucked the trend of declining software
sales, continuing to secure new business both in the U.S. and across the
world.

With less than 20 staff making up its Chicago-based workforce, Sword
Ciboodle is seeking to grow to around 75 employees, primarily software
engineers, business analysts, project managers and program managers. The
company currently supports its North American operations with staff from
other global locations, and the aim of this hiring exercise is to provide
the U.S. entity with the permanent staff needed to sustain its continuing
growth in the region.

“We are delighted to be in the position where we need to make a significant
investment in people to help support our U.S. growth, and finding the right
people is a hugely important step this company’s roadmap,” said Paul White,
CEO, Sword Ciboodle North America. “We are winning business on the strength
of our unique approach to building customer-centric software, but we rely on
the strength of our people to deliver the best-in-class experience to which
Sword Ciboodle clients across the world have become accustomed.”
