PR Event To Provide Strategies for Adopting Social Media

Singapore, February 24, 2010 – A 2-day conference will be held on 25-26
March to equip PR practioners with communication strategies that tap on the
potential of social media.

“Social media is the new frontier in communications. Companies in Asia know
how important it is for them to be able to take advantage of this new tool
for their business. The problem is, they don't know how to integrate it into
their marketing and communications strategies effectively,” says Chris Tang,
Managing Director of The Hoffman Agency Asia Pacific.

Titled “Social Media & PR”, the conference will address critical issues such
as the impact of social media on corporate reputation, ethical concerns in
engaging “ghost-writers” and the measurement of social media PR
effectiveness. Companies that will speak include BASF, The Ritz-Carlton,
Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, Ketchum etc.

The conference will also feature best practice case studies on the
integration of traditional & social media platforms into PR strategies.
Amongst these are the Pond’s Age Miracle Cream and Häagen-Dazs loves Honey
Bees campaigns, both award winners entries at the most recent Asia Pacific
PR Awards and Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival respectively.

Endorsers of the event include the Institute of Public Relations Singapore,
Hong Kong Public Relations Professionals’ Association and Public Relations
Consultants’ Association of Malaysia.
