Former Compliance Software Chief Appointed CEO At 1st Touch

Leading enterprise mobile technology group, 1st Touch (www.1sttouch.com), has confirmed the appointment of Robert Dent as CEO. Dent joins 1st Touch from Governance, Risk and Compliance software company Achiever Business Solutions; a Sword Group company.

As CEO and a shareholder of Achiever, Dent had been responsible for the company’s sale to Sword in 2006. Prior to the sale, Dent had taken Achiever from being a niche UK compliance systems company to become, according to both Gartner and Forrester, the leading GRC vendor in Europe.

Separately, Dent had also arranged the initial financial backing for 1st Touch back in November 2007. Since its inception, 1st Touch has already gained 15% of the social –housing, enterprise mobile systems market.

Dent’s aim at 1st Touch is to take the company to the next level, further increasing its share in the social housing sector market and beyond this to extend greatly the company’s reach into other related vertical arenas over the course of the next two years.

Commenting upon his appointment Dent noted, “I chose to join 1st Touch as it has innovative technology, coupled with a strong team and a rapidly growing market share; built in just two years. It is one of those companies where you instantly have a strong conviction that they are headed for far greater things.

“With markets like social housing moving rapidly to enterprise mobile technology, following public sector directives, it is clear to see that 1st Touch is set to expand exponentially both here and later in overseas markets. The company needed someone at the helm capable of exploiting these opportunities to the full. I relish the challenge and am absolutely delighted to be here!”

Commenting upon Dent’s appointment Cherry Rance, Head of Marketing at 1st Touch noted, “Having previously with Robert at Achiever, I am delighted that he has joined us; as I have seen his skills at first hand. He possesses immense vision and his arrival at 1st Touch will, I am sure, have a considerable and very positive impact.”
