City of San Francisco Selects Brightidea to Power Open Innovation Campaign

Brightidea's WebStorm and Switchboard Solutions to Help the City Further Its
Open Gov Initiative to Turn Government Into a Platform for Innovation

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - March 2, 2010) - Brightidea, the leader in
on-demand innovation management, today announced that the City of San
Francisco is using Brightidea's solutions to help collect, prioritize, and
manage cost-saving and revenue-generating ideas from its more than 26,000
city employees through ImproveSF.org.

Ideas submitted through the innovation portal powered by Brightidea's
WebStorm solution will be evaluated by select department heads using
Brightidea's Switchboard product. The top idea will be selected for
implementation with 10 other high ranking ideas recognized in an event with
the Mayor and co-sponsored by the San Francisco Planning + Urban Research
Association (SPUR) and the Municipal Fiscal Advisory Committee (MFAC), as
well as featured on SFGov.org and the city's Facebook page.

"ImproveSF.org will allow the City to tap into valuable ideas from city
employees to help solve some of our most pressing issues," said Mayor
Newsom. "I encourage employees to submit creative solutions to help balance
our budget."

This open innovation campaign builds on the momentum created by the Open Gov
Initiative for the City and County of San Francisco which focuses on open
data, open participation and open source. It is the first of several
campaigns designed to gather input from employees as well as citizens on
some of the city's most pressing issues.

"The City of San Francisco has always been at the leading edge of many
cultural and social movements," said Matt Greeley, CEO of Brightidea
"Through Mayor Newsom's leadership, the Open Gov Initiative opens-up
government processes and data to invite fresh thinking at all levels. This
world-class program is likely to be a model for many others around the
globe."

The announcement comes shortly after the launch of another high-profile
government-backed campaign also powered by Brightidea -- Ireland's Your
Country Your Call initiative that encourages citizens to contribute ideas
designed to foster the country's economic renewal.
