2009 Best Overall Win at World BSS Awards - MetraTech CorpBOSTON, USA & LONDON, UK – MetraTech Corp. (http://www.metratech.com/), the innovative charging, billing, settlement and customer care product provider has won the Best Overall prize at the prestigious World BSS Awards. The award was presented to two companies, MetraTech and Oracle Corporation at a ceremony during IIR’s BSS Summit 2009 in Amsterdam from June 8-11, 2009. The World BSS awards are widely regarded as the highest industry recognition of BSS excellence and are now in their 13th year. MetraTech was nominated as a finalist in three categories. In addition to its victory in the “Best Overall” category, its groundbreaking Software and Services deployment at Microsoft Online was voted runner up in the “Best Billing/Charging Implementation Project.” Chairman of the judges, Hugh Roberts, noted that this deployment was the equal to the category winner, but competition rules prevent two shared awards, therefore, MetraTech was given Runner Up in light of the company’s victory in Best Overall. In addressing MetraTech’s victory in the main category, Roberts noted that “Best Overall” was given to the company doing most to innovate and to lead the industry through a period of transformation. He pointed out the large number of exciting deals the company had concluded in the past 12 months as bearing witness to how the market had come to understand MetraTech’s vision. He also expressed the hope that its breakthrough year would see that vision cemented in 2010. The victory further underlines why, recently, Ari Banerjee, vice president of next generation software systems at consultancy Yankee Group noted in an interview published in DestinationCRM Magazine on May 8, 2009, “MetraNet has unique characteristics that you don’t see with [competitors] today.” He added, “Others will eventually catch up, but what [MetraTech] has today is compelling. MetraTech can come in and work with existing billing platforms. The company’s flexibility impresses me.” Expressing his delight at the victory, MetraTech CEO Scott Swartz said, “For us to win Best Overall at the World BSS Awards is a source of enormous pride both for me and for everyone at MetraTech. We thank Hugh Roberts and the judging panel in particular. Hugh has brought the same passion to the BSS Summit that we have brought to our product and has thus created an award that affords real prestige to the winner.” Swartz added, “We also thank our customers, particularly Microsoft Online which was also recognized by the World BSS Awards. 2009 has been a groundbreaking year for MetraTech; to have this recognized by our peers is an outstanding achievement. It underlines that Dynamic Business Modeling has come of age and that the freedom to innovate has finally moved from the drawing board to the top of the requirements list.” MarketPlace Powering the New Customer-Conversation Driven Enterprise [March 18, 10 AM PDT] With the exponential growth of the social web, enterprises need a new way to effectively collect and utilize unstructured information that can be used to drive business decisions.
