I am looking for about 5 to 10 most competitive CRM solutons for SME-market. At the moment I am comparing SuperOffice and SalesLogix.

So the idea is to enlarge my list of potential CRM-providers in order to choose the best one.

Here is my reply with some other solutions you can add to your list:

Client/Server

  • Maximizer
  • Microsoft CRM
  • Commence RM

Hosted/ASP

  • Salesnet
  • Salesforce.com
  • SalesPro CRM
  • NetSuite

But choosing your supplier is sometimes more crucial than choosing the package. Check out www.crm4sme.com for more tips.

Your options will depend on where your budget and needs put you: small or enterprise.

I would suggest that the choices you have listed lean more toward the small side. Also, don't forget that MS CRM will be expensive if you don't already have the infrastructure to run it already.

I would also suggest that Commence and Saleslogix are options that offer a platform on which you can build your CRM solution (as is MS CRM.) Other options to consider are ACCPAC CRM and Selligent. ACCPAC CRM offers a hosted CRM but with the added benefit that if you want to migrate it to an internal CRM you can do so without a conversion.

Finally, you do not indicate what you want the CRM to do. As such your range of choices will be very large. I would suggest that before you start making a list of options you would be better off if you define what you want the solution to do for you. It is also important to decide how you envision it working.

  • Do you want to install it internally?
  • Do you want to provide access for remote users to the CRM?
  • Do you want a client-server installation or web-based? Or, do you want both?
  • Is your business consumer-focused or business-focused?
  • Do you need to have work-flow for sales processes?
  • Do you want the CRM to support customer care?
  • Do you want workflows for customer care?
  • Do you want a relatively pre-configured CRM or do you want a platform that will allow you to design a CRM solution specific to your needs?

In my opinion, only after you have addressed these questions should you be making a list of options.
