I would tend to agree with you.
We work with a number of different vertical industries including financial services, hospitality and media/publishing. Our focus is on the marketing aspects of CRM - customer segmentation and value, relationship marketing, marketing automation etc. The healthcare and pharma sector has become our fastest growing vertical over the past year.
I suspect that this is because pharma companies have made significant strides on the sales force side of CRM and are now turning their attention to customer (patient and physician) analytics and marketing. We do find that even the large pharma companies are somewhat behind the other verticals, perhaps by a few years. However, the recent dynamics in the market (loss of patents, more competition, etc.) seem to have accelerated adoption of relationship marketing. I expect they will catch up quickly over the next couple of years.
