Smile Hello. Can anyone help..? We have a tailored CRM solution for the fashion industry, and are looking to find any research that has been done on customers in this vertical. Does anyone know if there is any research generally on customers in store...what they want, what they like, how they feel about using tachnology etc..?
Everyone talks about how we should tailor marketing to specific customers based on their likes and dislikes, but do we have any specific research to suggest that customers would be more likely to buy given this..? What about using technology in-store..? Where is the proof that customers will react positively to attempts to love them..? Thanks all! James

Greetings James

Sounds captivating. I can imagine what a turn this might have on the industry. You would have to target major fashion labels such as Levi's etc. You would be able to get a database of people's preferences on various makes and materials of garments. Moving over from garments you would have to look at other accessories and availabilities. You could try to use technology in the form of SFA where you could also link a supplier of the product to the retailer this would basically. The sale proportion and demand request for a particular product will give you an basic idea of the demand for that product and you could try to improvise on the product introducing new offers. You could also conduct online polls with the customer to infer his feed back on the product and supply this information to the Industry Maker to make the relevant changes to suit his customers and there is also is CRM. Your software can include Fashion Gurus, Products, Customer Requests, and Hot Selling Product etc. I am not sure how much I have been able to answer your question but hope this helps.

Wink Many thanks KS Mukund for your thoughts. I guess what I am really looking for is any actual surveys, study or data on consumer behaviour in terms of fashion retail, or general retail, in order to help justify our basic assumptions.
Anyone have any stats..???
Thanks again
James

Hi James,

Forrester Research did a study in Sept 2002 titled "Getting Retail CRM Right."

Frederick Newell has several cases studies in his book, "Why CRM Doesn't Work: How to Win by Letting Customers Manage the Relationship." The chapter titled "Who's Minding the Store?" has some interesting cases.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
