At the Benjamin Hotel a good nights sleep is guaranteed in the city that never does
#929 in the Project comes courtesy of a post by Ellin Stein on hotel amenities:
Ellin cites the Benjamin Hotel in NYC
The “Sleep Concierge” at New York’s Benjamin Hotel [#929] will equip you with one of 12 different types of pillow ranging from buckwheat to magnetic to anti-snore, plus a white noise machine.
“Most of our guests are business travelers. We realized that the number-one productivity tool isn’t a laptop, and it’s not a blackberry – it’s a good night’s sleep. A good night’s sleep is non-negotiable. The Benjamin’s ‘Sleep Guarantee’ ensures that everyone who stays at our hotel walks away well rested or gets their money back.”
“We offer our guests a selection of 12 different types of pillows from which to choose: down, upper body, buckwheat, satin, hypo-allergenic, water-filled, Swedish memory, magnetic therapy, cloud (new), a five-foot body cushion, sound, maternity and a special anti-snore pillow. We’re not doctors. We don’t cure sleep disorders. But we’ll do everything we can to make sure that our guests get the rest they need for the next New York day,” says Sleep Concierge Anya Orlanska.
Here’s a one minute look at the Benjamin:
Today’s Lagniappe (a little something extra thrown in for good measure) – Just in case you’re curious what’s popular at The Benjamin. Here’s the scoop from Anya @sleepconcierge (my favorite is the ‘lullaby’):
Are any pillows more popular than others?
Some of the most popular from our 12-pillow menu include the Swedish memory foam (conforms to the body and keeps you warm in the winter and cool in the summer), the water-filled pillow (for instant relief from headaches and neck pain, fill it with warm or cold water), the five-foot body cushion (helpful if you’re used to sleeping with another person, also great for expectant mothers), and the “lullaby” pillow that you can plug an iPod into, so you can fall asleep to your own music.
How do you stand out in the sea of sameness like the Hotel Benjamin? How do you win repeat customers and influence word of mouth? Are you Giving Little Unexpected Extras?
